Battle of the Books (BOB)
They did it! Our 4th and 5th grade Battle of the Books (BOB) scholars continued their winning streak and won FIRST PLACE at the March 2024 Battle of the Books competition!
Since September, these dedicated scholars met weekly to read, discuss and collaborate over 20 novels. Their hard work and perseverance paid off. They competed against students from five Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) schools — Eastbluff, Andersen, Newport, Newport Coast, and Sonora Elementary Schools who came together for the 8th Annual Battle of the Books competition on March 21 at Oasis Senior Center.
Congratulations to the winning blue team students: Kendall (captain) and Jack in 5th grade; and Luca, Faustina, Mason and Xavier in 4th grade. OLQA is beyond proud of the motivation, teamwork and positive attitudes they demonstrated throughout the year.
OLQA School also won this Battle of the Books competition in 2023!
